A Skincare Practitioner’s Guide to the Benefits of Cosmeceuticals

Offering medical-grade skincare products – often called cosmeceuticals – in your practice is a great way to deliver more value to your clients. They may initially be reluctant to make the switch to these products, though, especially if they are loyal to their current skincare regimen. Here are just a few of the benefits of cosmeceuticals that you can share to reassure them:

More Active Ingredients

Drugstore skincare products often boast active ingredients in their formulations. However, these products often have a regulatory limit to how highly concentrated these ingredients can be. This limits the strength and efficacy of active ingredients in storebought skincare products and results in most manufacturers adding weaker and less effective ingredients as fillers.

Cosmeceuticals

Do not have these same restrictions. Higher concentrations of active ingredients can be use in these formulations. This gives more direct exposure to the powerhouse ingredients your clients’ need – and less waste in the products they pay for.

Better Formulations

Speaking of ingredients, the overall formulations of cosmeceutical skincare products are generally much better than drugstore brands. This is down to the quality of each ingredient that is use. Oils and butters will be better-source and more unadulterate, while laboratory-create ingredients will be more concentrate. While your client might not notice the difference in the look or feel of these products, their skin will love being treate to better-quality ingredients from top to bottom.

Deeper Skin Penetration

Because there are fewer “filler” ingredients in cosmeceutical products, these products are generally better able to penetrate the skin than drugstore formulations. The molecules of the ingredients used in higher-quality skincare formulations are typically smaller, allowing them to penetrate deeper into the skin’s layers and do their job more effectively. This means that skin has better access to the active ingredients in these formulas. Results will be visible sooner to clients, who will be thrill to see a faster return on their skincare investment.

Better Overall Efficacy

Given the stronger ingredients, lower rates of unnecessary fillers, and deeper skin penetration, it only makes sense that cosmeceutical formulations would be more effective than those purchased from drugstores or big-box retailers. You can feel good about offering these products to your clients knowing that they will see superior results. Offering a variety of cosmeceuticals to patients or clients means that they have options to tailor their skincare to their individual needs – and you are better able to deliver those great results.

Superior Value for Money

It might be surprising to hear that cosmeceutical products are consider a better value than drugstore or retail store products. Generally, cosmeceuticals are higher-price than these products – so how can they be a better value?

It all comes down to the actual results users get from these products.

With retail skincare, your clients might see decent results over time with consistent use. With cosmeceuticals, though, they are more likely to get these results faster and with a more dramatic impact. It is a difference they can see, feel, and appreciate – and which will leave them feeling glad that they made the investment in better-quality skincare products.

Share this information with your clients and be proud to offer cosmeceuticals in your practice. You’ll love the boost they give to your business and your clients will love the results they receive. With cosmeceutical skincare products, everybody wins!
